FAVOURITE LIVER RECIPE:
2 lbs chicken liver
5 large eggs
1 cup molasses
1 cup wheat germ
2-3 teaspoons garlic powder
5 cups whole-wheat flour
Spread out on a greased cookie sheet (deep kind
with sides)
Fills almost 2 sheets
Bake at 300 degrees F (I have a convection oven) till
golden brown.
Should not crumble too much, but still stay chewy.
Slice while hot (into desired size) using sharp knife.
Place in baggies or plastic containers when cold: then freeze or store in
fridge.
Asta's Favorite:
A frozen treat: mash equal parts banana, peanut butter and yogurt. Spoon into ice cube trays. Feed outside! (submitted by Asta's mom)
15 Minute Liver Treats
Ingredients
1 lb chicken livers
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup corn meal or 1/2 cup oatmeal and 1/2 cup cornmeal
1 Tablespoon garlic powder
1 Egg
Directions:
Place chicken livers and liquid in blender, liquify. It smells kind of yucky. Add egg, mix a minute more. Pour into bowl. Add flour, corn meal and garlic powder. Mix. Spray jelly roll pan with "Pam". Pour mixture into pan. Bake 15 minutes in 400 degree F. oven. Cut into small squares while still warm. Keep in freezer in Ziplock Baggies to prevent spoilage.
